Embodying its name down to the most intricate detail, the Majestic provides San Antonians with Old World elegance in an architecturally flavorful and dramatic theater, all the while housing the San Antonio Symphony. Built at the end of the Jazz Age and on the brink of the Great Depression, the 1929 edifice marries Spanish Mission and Classical styles, equaling one breathtaking venue for Broadway performances. A State and National Historic Landmark, it's renowned as one of the world's finest vaudeville theatres. Palatial and inspiring in its baroque flair, the downtown San Antonio staple has played host to concerts, magic shows, plays and musicals for more than seven decades. Conservative audiences are drawn to the upscale locale because it provides the most-refined entertainment in the city, as well as the chance to dress the part to enjoy it. -- Kelly Lee

a native san antonian, I must admit the Majestic is one of the very few historical places actually still in tact after the city's modernization. No changes made to the Majestic I notated was very refreshing to see that it hasn't since at all since I was there in my childhood more than 25 years ago. A must see if even just to take a look inside.
