Ask any local at random where you can get a hamburger and fries in a laid-back, non-fast-food setting, and you're likely to get a unanimous answer. Chris Madrid's has been home to the Macho Burger for many years. Somewhat inconspicuously located on Blanco Road, Chris Madrid's packs 'em in at almost any point of the day, be it the lunch hour or the evening. The dining area has expanded over the years to include indoor picnic tables, a full bar and an outdoor dining area. The food has a lot to do with why people come from all around to eat here; however, the atmosphere is also unique and attractive. Be sure to take in the bumper stickers covering the windows, and the years' worth of T-shirts covering the walls. Bring your family or head on over with old friends or co-workers. You may even get to take home your very own "I ate the Macho" bumper sticker.

Chris Madrids =good, Smashburger=Better
By slvrgldn31 on 06/15/2009
Chris Madrid's might sounds good, but San Antonio's newest burger joint Smashburger will defiantly be the best! everyone should come out the Grand Opening for Smashburger's two franchise locations in San Antonio on Saturday, June 27, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ****** Stone Ridge location at Hwy 281 & Evans Rd. (21025 Hwy 281, Ste. 1330, San Antonio, 78258). I has Smashburger when I was in Colorado and have been obsessed with them ever since:D

A MUST HAVE
By BEBE7881 on 06/06/2009
I live in Florida and I have been to San Antonio only two times and both times I made sure to visit Chris Madrids. I LOVE THEIR BURGERS!!! THE BEST IN THE NATION. My cousin who lives in Texas took us there the first time we went to Texas and we are so glad she did. I hate that I can only have their burgers when I visit since they don't have one in Florida. Owners should seriously consider making it a franchise and bringing one to South Florida, MIAMI to be exact. :0)

It's okay

I never really understood all of the praise this place gets. My whole family loves Chris Madrid's, and apparently so does the city of San Antonio, but I've always found their food to be rather bland and nothing special. The same taste can be easily achieved at home, there is nothing unique about their flavor. I've had better burgers at What-A-Burger.
