Great food, tasty margaritas, live music and a trendy atmosphere lure locals and tourists to this favorite eatery nestled on the edge of the Historic King William District. Rosario's flaunts purple ceilings, ceiling fans and a neon bar. The pink and turquoise interior flatters the equally colorful food. Start out with the freshly prepared salsa with tostadas, or with an order of ceviche or nachos. For dinner some of your best bets are the pollo diablo or the pipian plate. The pollo diablo is a charbroiled chicken breast covered with spicy ranchero sauce and white cheese. The pipian is a grilled chicken breast smothered with a mole-like sauce of ground nuts, seeds and spices. Other favorites are the calabacito con puerco, puffy tacos, steak ranchero, flautas or carne de puerco en chile cascabel. For dessert have the delicious capirotada with caramel. Sax improv reigns on Friday night. Latin jazz smooths out Saturday after dark.

Great place
By RamiroM62 on 07/03/2008
I went there a couple of weeks ago at different times for lunch (puffy taco combo) and (dinner combo plate) since I was staying at hotel in La Villita. I thought the food was excellent and the service was very good. A couple of things to criticize. First, we were served hand made flour tortillas at dinner but package ones during lunch. Maybe they ran out? Nevertheless the hand made corn tortillas were yummy at both meals. Lunch service was off a bit but they were packed and the food was very tasty. The dinner service was fine and food was great. Beer drinkers should note nothing but Mexican cerveza was served. My main concern was access. The parking lot was packed but plenty of street parking is available. But, I took my grandmother (who uses a walker) there for dinner and she could not easily get into and out of the place. The front is too far from the packed lot for her and the back or side door was not easy to enter since the lot was full and no one was available to seat us. After some navigating we all got in but it is not a place for everybody. Still I would go back to eat and driunkg anytime.
