Rate and Write a Review For those travelers who can pack for two months in a single backpack and still have room for souvenirs, hostels are a great place to lay your head. The Banana Bungalow provides a place to crash (dorm-style rooms with linens included), a place to spruce up (shared bathrooms), a place to stash your stuff (lockers) and munchies (breakfast foods in the AM and plenty of vending machines for the late-night snacker). The price is right, but keep in mind that your hostel mates could turn out to be more 'Animal House' than housetrained, but they could also be from Paris, St. Petersburg or Pilau. The Banana Bungalow San Diego is right on the Pacific Beach boardwalk, with organized activities such as beach volleyball, keg parties (they dont have those at the Radisson, Skippy) and pub crawls organized weekly. Fairly noisy, with lots of late-night traffic, but if you're a hostel person, you're probably up anyway.
