There's not much to 710 (formerly Blind Melons -- still the same place, just a different name), and that's just the way regulars like it. Inside, you can find a tiny stage, a small bar to belly up to and a side room featuring a Ms. Pac Man game and pool table. That's about it, but that's plenty for the folks clamoring to get in and relax with a cold one while hanging with like-minded souls. Perhaps the popularity has to do with the weekday happy hour that lasts from one until 7PM, or perhaps it's the super-reasonable cover charge for a night of live music. It could just be the lack of pretension that's the drawing card here. Whatever the reason, you find that patrons tend to have a local flavor, though not to the exclusion of newbies to the scene. A big bonus in this neighborhood is the pay lot out back where parking can be had for a mere $5; definitely cheaper than going ballistic trying to find a spot on a weekend night.

i like BM,i saw a good regea band and somked out behind the bar, and out on the beach. The beach is only a few steps away so just we steped out to smoke. The crowd was a little snoby(not just to non-college people, i go to State) butif you with friends to hang out and dance it's a fun night.

back in Nov. 99 I came to the BM for the first time, they were having a band showcase, their was a Band call No Bargain, I thought it was really hot, great music people look like they were having a great time. My question is why haven't you had them back? I have been in their a couple of times, but it would be nice to have some of that old time
