Were you a class clown who honed your detention-landing jokes to perfection? Are your funny stories a hit at parties? Do you love to be the center of attention, or just like to laugh? If you can answer yes to all or any of the above, then The Comedy Store is the place to be. Comics such as Gary Shandling, David Letterman and Pauly Shore (well, they can't all be gems, right?) got their start on the stage of this local club. There are two shows on both Friday and Saturday nights, and there's always a two-drink minimum. Sunday night is open mic night, and even if the jokes are bad, at least there isn't a cover charge. The place can get crowded, so try to arrive early for your choice of tables -- just remember that if you sit close to the stage, you could get picked on by the next aspiring Seinfeld.
