Gringo's warm rustic atmosphere invites those weary of Del Taco to sample authentic Mexican fare without having to head into TJ. Located on the popular stretch of Pacific Beach frequented by the surfboard set, the restaurant prides itself on south-of-the-border seafood dishes (ceviche and calamari are chef specialties) and an array of tequila-infused cocktails made from over 100 top-shelf brands. Daily specials and happy hours make for happy diners, but it's the Sunday brunch that's the true crowd-pleaser. At under $20, the all-you-can eat affair satisfies both the belly and wallet with an assortment of main dishes and desserts that includes chilaquiles, fresh fruit and several pie and cake options.
