Once an exclusive hideaway for Hollywood's finest, the Inn Suites Hotel is now a San Diego landmark. Glamorous stars such as Bob Hope, Betty Grable and Harry James all frequented the colonial-style hotel, and the hotel strives to maintain the charm once experienced by its famous patrons. The rooms are all elegantly decorated and offer free movies, microwaves (complete with bags of microwave popcorn) and data ports. An ideal stay at the hotel includes time spent relaxing by the Olympic-sized pool (which was designed by Tarzan's Johnny Weissmuller), as well as a visit to the historic Red Fox room for a cocktail and some jazz tunes. -- A.H. I Love This Hotel
Stayed here for 7 days in a pool side room. My 90 mother loved it. Beds are So Comfortable! Micro and Refrig are great. Pool was nice, lobby is spacious and airy. Breakfast in morning is adequate, make your own waffle, cereal, bagels, etc.
Free parking, newspaper and local calls. Downtown is 5 min away. I love the ambience and history...a funky place with glamour. Had some trouble getting incoming phone calls but no trouble calling out. Everyone has a cell phone anyway. Pool side food and drink service, or you can hang out at the bar which flows onto the patio overlooking the pool. Great value for the money.
