The pastries provided with the complimentary Continental breakfast are fresh. Perhaps this is not the most groundbreaking concept in the hospitality industry, but many hotels interpret Continental Breakfast to mean watery, nasty orange juice served in Dixie cups with day-old bakery bargains on the side. Who isn't impressed when confronted with a flaky and tender cheese danish, or with fresh coffee and juice? Nice contemporary rooms, each with a patio and many with ocean views - but be sure to order up a few extra towels when you check in -- the very clean and fresh towels are rather small. The Ocean Park is a pleasant stroll to great dining, and is another great jumping-off point to the more popular San Diego tourist attractions. - L.S. Galloway
