If the interior of the Shout! House looks somewhat plain, it's because there's no reason to look anywhere other than the stage, which showcases two baby grands flanked by full-wall mirrors. The pianos are for the rowdy pianists who jumpstart the evening, and the mirrors are to remind people in the crowd that guests are part of the entertainment. A long way from being a "piano lounge" you'd find in an airport hotel's bar, Shout! House features two pianists who face off in medleys of prepared material and customer requests. They croon, cry, bang the keys, bang the keyboard lid, jump off the stools and, yeah, they shout. Most importantly, they get the crowd going, letting them take verses and choruses, pulling birthday girls on stage for an ultra-embarrassing serenade and just making sure that everyone has a wild time.

Loved It!

My friends and I were looking for a new place to party after our current hanout took a dive, so we went here based on this .. and it ROCKED. It gets packed, so come early if you can (plus avoid cover). Casual and funny!

SO FUN, SO DIFFERENT...
By alistoria on 01/23/2007
This place ROCKS! There is no other place in the Gaslamp Quarter that has the energy and is so different. Forget all the hip/hop, meat market places that look at you sideways if you don't have a grand to spend just by walking in the door. The entertainment is so great and they get everyone involved (willing or not) and everyone has such a great time. The show is made up by the audience so each time you go, it is different but always hilarious and a little risque. The fun part is that I have been there with friends and my parents and as long as you don't embarress easily (or as long as they don't), it's a great time. The drink prices are about average, actually quite a bit more reasonable than most places in the Gaslamp, the staff is friendly (especially during their "Showtimes"). There is a cover $5.00 from 6-7pm and $10 after 7pm on the weekends. If you want to have fun without the attitude of most clubs, The Shout! House is the place to go!

A bit outrageous and oh so fun. Laughed non-stop for hours. I'll be back!
