THIN   

Like some vision of a futuristic spacecraft, the stainless steel walls and silver interior of Thin conjure up images of a quiet sterile environment -- until the DJ hits it. Blam! Suddenly the long, narrow lounge is filled with colored lights and a spectrum of dancers, bringing life into a space where everybody can hear you scream, and they like it. There isn't always a lot of space to sit down; you keep moving at the Thin Room, which is perhaps why it's called that: dancing nonstop all night burns a lot of calories. Or perhaps the name is meant to instill an image of fashion model-type beauty, as much of the stylish bar's clientele look like they've stepped out of the latest Express and Abercrombie & Fitch catalogues. The music is cutting-edge DJ mastery, with the turntables up in the front window inviting all passersby to at least bob their heads with the groove. The copious house drinks are as mod as the interior, and after you taste some of the more potent ones, you're bound to see a lot more color. Thin is operated in tandem with its downstairs, Roaring '20s-style cousin, Onyx. On Friday and Saturday nights, the cover charge gets you into both clubs.
