When you're craving New York pizza, complete with thin crust, simple tomato sauce, loads of cheese, extreme salty flavor and slices bigger than your head, this is the end of the road. From a modest street-side storefront, "Da Boys" serve up over 1,000 of their city-sized slices a day, boxing 18-inch to-go orders every minute. A handful of tables in a very small room with a lot of hungry people make take-out the preferred option. Leave the surfboard at home -- these guys can be rude, pushy, old school New Yorkers. But if you're armed with your order in mind and can bounce witty comments right back at 'em, you'll fit right in. Pepperoni, mushroom and vegetarian options rule here but the spinach, olive and marinated artichoke, or the jumbo shrimp pizza with clams, garlic and pesto, are great alternatives. Big, cheap slices and luscious calzones are all the rage for the late-night post- club or pre-exam crowds, and a fridge full of sodas makes for a quick one-stop shop.
