Callahan's Pub & Brewery   

Callahan's is a lot like Hooters, only without the ridiculous orange shorts and double entendres. The interior is made of the same sunny wood, patchworked with beer signs and Irish-themed monuments. Wednesdays is the remarkably popular wing night, on which teriyaki, BBQ, hot and "suicide" chicken wings can burn your belly for 30 cents each. The servers are as cheerful as Hooters Girls, and often just as attractive. Regrettably, Callahan's is located in the most standard of suburban strip malls, quite inconvenient for bar-hoppers. Yet the leap it takes to get to Callahan's is more than worth it, if only to savor their unique selection of home-cooked microbrews. The brewers know how to ferment any beer lover's fantasy, be it the golden-hued Blueberry Wheat, or the rich, dark "Nameless" Nut Brown. Besides the wings, Callahan's offers many other menu items to fascinate the famished. The mountainous slab of mud pie, a free blessing on birthdays, is delectable enough to be a death-row inmate's last request. Also noteworthy is the jalapeno beer cheese soup. It can be ordered with steamed veggies for dipping, so you won't feel entirely unwholesome at the end of the night.
