If you think you're lost when you go looking for Cenote Grill, you're probably on the right route. It's hidden in a residential neighborhood where you wouldn't expect to find such a treasure. Fittingly, the name of the place refers to holes in the Yucatan Peninsula's limestone crust that explorers follow to find beautiful underground pools. The owner's aim is to create great healthy Mexican food with a casual "come on in" atmosphere. The spinach salad gets a lot of press for its unique preparation. A green onion is tied around a spinach bunch and the whole thing is dropped on a grill for a few seconds. It's served whole with bacon, egg and a light, creamy dressing. The sauces and salsas vary in heat intensity, and are each crafted to best accentuate its parent dish. Carne asada and carnitas are slow cooked to tenderize the meat and avoid the high fat content of restaurants who fry these dishes. Sunday brunch is a unique mix of American breakfast items and classic Mexican items like sopes and posole.

If you are seeking traditional Mexican food this is not the place for you. No refried beans or typical combination plates. On the expensive side and located in a small shopping center.
