The waitresses T-shirts say it all: "Delightfully tacky, yet unrefined." Though it's doubtful that the National Organization for Women will be booking their Christmas party here, nationally renowned Hooters takes playful pride in its buxom girls clad in orange '80s Dolphin shorts, roller skates and tight tops. It's a huge, well-lit, sports-oriented bar where testosterone reigns, and the girls know how to handle its overflow with a smile. There are rolls of paper towels at all tables, and the kitchen -- specializing in wings, clams, shrimp and oyster roasts -- is open all night.The Gaslamp location is packed to the gills on military payday; Sundays find the family crowd -- kids eat free. In the words of one of the Hooters girls: "You get the guys who like to hunt and fish and watch NASCAR." So if you've got box seats to the Winston Cup and 'Hot Dog' is your favorite '80s film, this is the place for you.
