Hidden down on Fifth, the Wine Bank is the place to go when your gift-buying budget is modest but your gift-giving impact ambitions are high. The oenophiles that staff the shop know great cheap wine, they know great expensive wine -- they know everything to know about the fruit of the grape and take great delight in passing their wisdom onto their patrons. The antique shop feel, with old brick walls and ceiling fans, makes shopping an atmospheric delight; adventurous shoppers can wander the downstairs labyrinth of rooms, each with a different national theme, as they hunt for that perfect bottle. You can give a bottle of this year's favorite -- the peppery Zinfandel -- or ask for a recommendation from any of the delightfully eccentric staff. Delivery and gift certificates are available.
