The carefully decorated dining room reminds us of a Paris bistro, and even though families bring children or drop in to browse for carry-out dinners, we find the atmosphere relaxing, enjoyable and a tad intime. The glass cases filled with attractive pastries, breads and prepared dishes hint at the talents of the kitchen, which does well with simple French classics like onion soup (served bubbling hot, and in a portion that makes it a meal), and well- garnished salads. The seafood, meat and poultry choices run to familiar favorites, and when we crave something like boeuf bourguignon, a pleasant, none-too-expensive dinner at Champagne Bakery instantly comes to mind.
