The description from your service truly describes this restaurant. The cocktails on the 2nd floor were great and the people watching super. The dinner downstairs was elegant but in a "casual California" way. You didn't have to have a suit on but the dinner was worth the special occasion dress. I'd recommend the Chef's Dinner of soup, salad, 2 small entrees of fish and beef, and dessert for $38/person. More food than you could eat and you could try alot. Great price! I'd go back for sure when I could see the sun set while having cocktails.

A showpiece in the heart of La Jolla! Chef Scott Meskan appeals to all of our senses with his tantilzing dishes. George Hauer appeals to our desire for fine wines, outstanding service, and ambiance for all moods in any of the three dining areas. And Pastry Chef Todd Petersen appeals to everyone that has a sweet tooth! The place to impress out-of-towners, business clientele, and your mom and dad!!!

I travel 125 - 125 days per year and ea the best restaurants in the country. George's is one of only teo or three in San Diego that stack up with the best of them... George knows how to do it... Imagine overlooking the Cove in La JOlla.. eating the most creative food in San Diego, impeccably served... and accompanied by the perfect wine... Ps. I wrote a book called The Art of Professional Serving that the New York TImes called the best book available on service for wait staff in restaurants
