Except for the blue awning, this tiny cafe would be easy to miss on one of La Jolla's busiest streets. Whether it's a quick lunch stop during a busy workday or a light evening meal you're after, Girard's selection of sandwiches, home-cooked lasagnas and quiches are sure to satisfy. Expect a line of faithful fans on weekdays awaiting one of the gourmet sandwiches served on a choice of fresh breads. Those looking for something heartier than a sandwich must try the beef burgundy with rice, the roast duck or the eggplant stuffed with spinach and cheese.
