Martinis Above Fourth   

In the main dining room of the former Martini's Bar and Grille, the walls shimmer with tiny mirrors, and the lush carpet is bouncy underneath your boots or stilettos. But the showpiece of Martinis, of course, is the grand piano. Every night from 7-10PM, the keys are tickled by talented professionals. Melodies are widely varied, depending on the performer's partiality, and can range from jazz to showtunes. If they're just not playing your song, Martinis also features a separate smoking patio overlooking Fourth Avenue, complete with a second, fully-stocked bar. The menu is exotic, but expertly rendered, offering everything from monkfish to escargot: surf and turf like you've never seen before. Appropriately, the bar offers a wide variety of tasty martinis, from the Espresso to the Chocolate Covered Cherry to the tangy Key West. For the strong-livered, the $45 Ophelia Later (get it?) Martini, named after a local female impersonator, just might set the room spinning. But be wary: Such luscious drinks, opulent surrounding and high-class companionship will likely loosen your voice box, and you may soon find yourself singing along to Rodgers and Hammerstein.
