Real noshers are known for having one thing in common: They never agree about the food at any Jewish delicatessen on the West Coast, except on those occasions when they hate it. So it's not surprising that some kvetchers avow that Milton's, a vast and unusually attractive deli- restaurant in a prime North County location, serves a brand of deli that's no more authentic than a Jack-in-the-Box taco. We nosh, too, and we also kvetch frequently, but we disagree with those who diss Milton's, since we like the joint, especially when presented with a plate centered by a pastrami on rye so tall that it threatens to scrape the ceiling (well, not really, but the sandwiches are big). We also smile upon the chopped liver, the blintzes, the dinner specials and the specialty sandwiches, all brought by young servers with lovely personalities and willing attitudes-even when they forget to bring the tzimmes with the brisket.
