Minkia that was good!
Try the pickled pulpo salad. It will palpitate and pucker your taste buds. I love to stick the suction cups to my incisors and let the legs dangle from my mouth...then smile and walk around. Talk about adventures in dining! All I can say is...Minkia...now that's Italian! Oh and don't forget the deli. Ask for the gabagul delight sandwich and the stu-gatz with sauteed peppers and onions...slide that between a warm bun and my friends...That's amore!
Terrible Experience!
This restaurant was extremely disappointing. I went there last Friday with a friend and the server made us feel very uncomfortable. She was rude when my friend (being from another country) asked what was in a meatball. She looked at my friend liked she had two heads and said coldly "it's a meatball" rather than simply say, chop meat, breadcrumb, egg, etc. I ordered an antipasto salad and lasagna. When my salad came out, I asked her for some bread (I like to dip bread in the dressing and there are meats on an antipasto salad that I like to eat with bread). The server said "the bread comes out later" and ran off, I had to track her down and ask for bread again and explained to her I like bread with my salad rather than waiting for the lasagna. She brought me garlic bread (i wanted plain bread), and when i asked if they had plain bread she said in a rude tone that that was the only bread they had, which I found hard to believe because they make sandwiches there too, so the manager saw she was giving me a hard time and finally came over and told the server that i can have plain bread and this server wouldn't let up, she said "well what you just want it toasted plain" like I was crazy or something. I didn't even want it toasted, I just wanted plain old bread that you normally get in a basket at any other restaurants while waiting for your dinner. I don't understand why this was such a big ordeal. Anyway, the meal was ruined by the server's rude attitude. Finally, I asked her for a sausage hero to go (my boyfriend asked me to pick him up something) and she said rudely, "we don't serve gyros here". When I told her I wanted a sausage sandwich, she brought me the menu and asked me to point to what I wanted. I speak English very well, I am an attorney and have never had trouble getting someone to understand me in the courtroom, so why was this waitress having such a hard time understanding me!?! I felt so uncomfortable by the end of the meal that I wanted to cry

We were visting the area and the Mona Lisa was the only place that had food worth the price!!! Large portions and low prices can't be beat. Its also the only place we found that offers Ranch dressing in the area. We went to many restaurants while there, and this place is the only one that measured up to our standards.
MSCLONLY's Review
A neighborhood place with good prices. Not gourmet, but signature dish Mona Lisa Chicken Breast was very nicely done with smoked ham, which had more of a German ham taste. A little strong for the chicken. Steamed vegetable were cold. Sauce on pasta was good. Thinly sliced toasted garlic bread went well without being filling. Salad with good ranch dressing was a nice start.
