From humble beginnings as a purveyor of organic peanut and almond butter, Spread eventually grew to specialize in a full menu of organic vegetarian meals. Entrees are based on fresh and exotic produce personally chosen by owners Andrew and Robin Schiff. Weekend brunch goodies include eggs with homemade mole sauce and vanilla French toast made from cranberry bread. Refresh yourself with a salad of flower petals, micro-greens and heirloom tomatoes before a frittata with wild bluefoot mushrooms, lavender and black truffles. Dessert calls for roasted banana brulee topped with chocolate peanut spread. A kitschy rainbow of furniture and accents makes the restaurant a fun place for dates or the family. Occasional movie nights or DJ accompanied meals can make the dining experience as unique as the menu. They still sell the full line of peanut and almond spreads with flavors like white chocolate and milk chocolate pretzel, so pick some up to take home.

Unique and Delicious!
By vegas2sharp on 07/03/2005
Everything is fresh and flavorful. I am not a vegetarian nor an expert on vegetarian food but I really enjoyed the food at Spread. The Bruschetta was wonderful! There was a live DJ Saturday night playing funky music that really set the mood. I didn't want to leave. Don't forget a jar of their homemade peanut butter or almond butter (100 different flavors). I am a peanut butter lover and I was thoroughly impressed.

Yummy! Creative Cuisine

This is definitely the most fun, funky, creative and delicious restaurant in all of southern California. Try the electric gelato. It's a seriously good treat and mouth-plosion! Yummy!

Best Food in the City
By judymiller40 on 08/24/2004
We tried the Sunday brunch and it was incredible! The peanut butter and banana stuffed challah french toast was delicious! Of course, we still go for dinner at least twice a week for the thai veggie pizza and the mole. It just shocks me that there isn't a line with a three hour wait out the door. This really is the best food in the city, without a doubt.
