Tuscany Restaurant   

A friend & I meet here regularly for a drink & a nosh on week nights. We like the atmosphere & the live music. The crowd is generall over 40. The waiters can be charming or they can be inattentive at least in the bar area. The food is good. I haven't dinner there in awhile ************ to be busy, which is always a good sign. My only complaint is the way that wines come & go. I wish they would keep a few core brands and stop switching around.

Service barely a 1 Atmosphere a 3.5 Food a 2.5 Cost Astronomical Unfotunately we decided to believe the people who gave higher ratings to this restaurant and were more than regretted our choice. The only thing this place had going for it was the quality and style of music that enveloped an older crowd atmosphere. I suppose that is so because most of the waiters were all part of the geriatric group. Our waiter looked so unhappy and pathetic, He had the personality of a 2x4. He never tried to make our dining experience plesant nor did he make an effort to endulge us in any way or form He said about one word to us besides 'what would you like', with a grumpy look on his face. I felt sorry for him. So that takes care of the atmposphere and waiter so next is the quality of the food. It was at best mediocre and way over priced. The dining experience was one of the worst in years for a long awaited romantic evening out. ;-(

This place is now under new management, the food is much better now and the service is perfect as well. We visit Tuscany much more often now that the quality and service is what it should be. I have lived in NY for many years and here for over 10 years, the Italian food in San Diego will never compare to NYC, but Tuscany comes closer than any place in San Deigo that I have tied so far.
