Rate and Write a Review This is a romantic and plush bed and breakfast located on the oft-photographed Alamo Square. The neighborhood takes you back in time to 1904, when the newly appointed Archbishop of San Francisco brought in his architects and built this French chateau with sweeping views of the park. Guests enjoy breakfast in bed, individual service and an evening wine reception with heavenly grapes. There are 15 rooms, including five suites, each named after an opera. Fifteen fireplaces are scattered throughout the house. Many rooms have two-person bathtubs or Jacuzzis; most feature four-poster or partial-canopy beds. You're just a step out the door away from Alamo Square's famous row of Victorian houses known as the Painted Ladies, and it's about a ten-minute drive or cab ride from Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf. -- Staff
