More than anything else, the Depot is the central gathering place in downtown Mill Valley. Located on the square in the middle of town, it is the place for weekend cyclists, harried moms, old friends and hungry high schoolers to meet for lattes and light lunches. Menu selections range from a roast turkey sandwich with mango chutney, to a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. When the weather is warm, there are cafe-style tables outside, making it the perfect location for people watching or reading in the sun. The bookstore portion of the establishment is small, but well stocked with whatever weekend read you might be looking for. The Depot also carries a large selection of magazines and cards. Check out the black and white portraits of local authors adorning the walls.
