Despite having the word "lounge" in its name, the multi-level windowless cavern of a space is pure club at heart. Superb sound and lighting systems, an after-hours permit and a carefully designed layout allowing unobstructed views of the DJ booth and dance floor from both levels are details that keep patrons coming back. The recent improvements have transformed DNA Lounge, once a dingy warehouse, into one of the best dance clubs in the city. Floor It! If you love to get your groove on, the wall-to-wall dance floor on the first level is a dream come true. Not only is it spacious, but it also rests atop a combination of wood and neoprene that lessens the impact on bodies in motion. You might appreciate the extra cushion the morning after. Watch It! Events range from longstanding club night Remedy to the annual Drag King contest, from performances by top-notch DJs to hip-hop and reggae nights. Every event at the club is available via live Web cast and archived on the Web site for two weeks. Ten video cameras placed throughout the space record club happenings for the live video web casts available any time of day or night. So you don't even need to be there to see the action.

Not what it used to be
By mcpjlim on 01/28/2008
it's a ghost of a venue from what it used to be. Remedy, the weekly deep house night attempted on several tries to bring it' attendance up and each time, they failed. then they tried it once a month and STILL it failed. maybe cuz the only people that went were the "dancers" who were not only on the guest list they weren't alcohol consumers. besides, deep house is not on the rise in the u.s. it's all about techno now/.

The place rocked
By chad7744 on 01/08/2005
I went DNA lounge last Friday night for the first time. It was totally amazing! Between the DJ's and the dancers, I was just totally taken back. The whole thing was almost like a scene out of a movie. I don't know when I will be able to go again. I don't get the weekends off and I don't know how many more times I can get 'somehow get the flu'.
