The Boheme is a small, sexy hotel in the heart of North Beach. Rooms have gauze-draped canopies over queen beds, telephone/modem jacks, cable TV, bistro tables and European armoires. The Boheme trades heavily on its beat poetry location -- two blocks from City Lights bookstore and North Beach restaurants and nightlife. Their Web site (www.hotelboheme.com) provides excellent information on the history of the Beat Generation as well as the neighborhood of North Beach. Rates are reasonable, but you need to reserve in advance, as there are only 15 rooms. It is especially fine for couples and families, since you can sleep up to four people in a room for the same rate.
