Hunan Homes Restaurant   

after reading many reviews and seeing all the great ratings for this place, i was all prepared to have some good food. we ordered the beef with chinese broccoli and the chicken with orange peels. first, it took about a million years to bring out the first dish, then they didn't bring out the second until at least 5 minutes later. the chicken was non-existent--it was flattened then fried in batter, but it was toooo thin and i felt like i was just eating the batter which tasted like funnel cake. never had our drinks refilled and took wayyyyy too long to get a check and have it processed. sick. wone of the worst dining experiences ever. if you like to have actual pieces of chicken when you eat, don't come here.

I must say, I started going to Hunan Homes back in 1984-85 and to this day, still find there food the best. This is a family run business from the top down. They have excellent staff, pay attention to detail, and most of all produce amazing authentic Chinese cuisine ! Their Pot Stickers are made fresh daily, they are by far the best I’ve ever had. Their Hot and Sour Soup again is the best in China Town and that says a lot about this place because I’ve been to 30 different restaurants in China Town. Go there, you won’t be disappointed !! As a native San Franciscan, I have found the food consistent on multiple occassions. Serving area has been clean. Servers have been courteous, a rarity toward American born Asians. Prices a little pricy for portions provided

There are many chinese restaurants out there, but none can compare to Hunan Home's. Not only is their food delicious, but for a Chinese restaurant, their service has ought to be the best. Their menu has a delightful selection of Hunan food for you to choose from. I promise you, you will never taste better Hot and Sour soup than the one Hunan Home's cooks. Don't believe me? Go try it! They also have peking duck, prawns with honey walnut, eggplant with chicken and prawns(my favorite) and a whole lot of selection to choose from, whether you're a spicy food person or not. Definately must check it out, for their good service and good food!
