There are few spots left in the Mission where locals can slip in and get their sip on without jostling for space with the hordes spilling out of cabs, but the Latin American Club has managed to remain relatively tourist-free. Despite the funky decor, it's just a simple place to have a simple drink. Try not to look like you're going out for the night, since you're likely to be sipping a margarita (the house specialty) next to an out-of-work artist or a contemplative writer. Still, even with all the thinking and deep discussions taking place, you'll always feel welcome -- unless you're planning on downing tequila shots and reenacting scenes from Coyote Ugly, in which case you'd better head farther South of Market.
