The Midnight Sun is a Castro video bar with a screen on each wall showing current music videos, comedy skits and television shows. The small interiors and tall tables without chairs have added to the venue's reputation as an S&M bar (that's Stand and Model for the uninitiated), which can make your chances of talking to new people slim. Of course, with what is perhaps the longest happy hour in the city (2PM-2AM) on Mondays and regular happy hour on other days until 7PM, you'll have no trouble loosening up your lips if you get in the mood for conversation. At the very least, every Liza Minelli song you hear will sound fabulous.

A Castro Street institution thats never lost its relevance...a great bar/staff/~you won't find a bar like this ANYWHERE in the country..very unique!
Best Bar in SF!
This is the first place I head to when in SF and the last place I stop when headed home. Great atmosphere, friendly crowd and staff, good drink specials, best music and comedy videos and watch your favorite shows (6 Ft Under, Graham Norton, Will & Grace, Simpsons, QAF) in a fun atmosphere. Don't miss it! If in SF and alone, it's a great place ti while away a few hours.

This place is fun when you wanna lounge around and flirt! There's a really good video bar and lots of hot guys!

I love this bar. It's one of the places I go everytime I'm in the city. A visit to San Francisco wouldn't be the same without a visit to the Midnight Sun.
