"Crispy doesn't do things like other people do," says one of Crispy Luppino's employees when asked to describe the style of arrangements that come out of this North Beach flower shop. From all accounts, that's an understatement. Crispy Luppino portfolio of petals include a velvety wedding bouquet of blood-black roses, a six-foot-tall palm tree made entirely of calalilies and tiered centerpieces brimming with grapes and pine branches befitting a Roman banquet. Over-the-top and out-of-the-ordinary arrangements keep Crispy's fans coming back to see what she'll come up with next. The results are consistently original arrangements that lean toward the lush and romantic, but cannot be easily categorized. Crispy mostly handles large engagements -- weddings and special events -- but her shop is certainly worth stopping in if you're strolling though North Beach. Its eclectic selection of bouquets, vases, wreaths and gifts are uniformly pretty and a testament to Crispy's good taste.
