Rate and Write a Review The Last Day Saloon used to hold the record in San Francisco for being the longest running bar operated by the same owner, David Daher, a restless carpenter who opened the Last Day in 1973. That is no longer the case. The place is now called the Rockit Room and the new owners have undertaken a makeover. Reopened in late 2005, this two-floor bar caters to the co-ed set with live -- and often local -- bands, as well as high-energy dance club nights and special events like movie screenings. Expect diverse acts and a booking calendar that jumps around from genre to genre. For smaller, quieter events, patrons enjoy drinks at the tables dotting the hardwood floor in front of the stage. When the crowds pack in, the tables and chairs swiftly disappear, leaving an expansive dance floor in their wake. On nights without scheduled performances, patrons head here for the HD flat screen TVs, pool tables, foosball and free wireless Internet access. Happy hour runs from 4-7PM, seven days a week and offers daily specials, as well as $1 off all well drinks and drafts.
