Prices are high, so if youre just looking for a few annuals you might be better off somewhere else. But if you're serious about gardening, you're in the right place. The Scene: Grab a cart and wind your way through the building and out to the back, where you'll rub elbows with hordes of other weekend enthusiasts. Plants are helpfully arranged by shade and sun requirements and most of them have general care instructions and growing preferences attached. Insider Tips: Sloat offers a series of plant- and gardening-related workshops. Also, their very helpful bimonthly newsletter has seasonal tips on maintenance, planting, fertilizing and pest control.
