WISH   

Wish is a simple yet sophisticated bar in the 11th and Folsom area. It's classier than the Holy Cow next door and mellower than Sushi Groove across the street. The space is painted in burgundy and black tones to complement the exposed cinderblock walls and cement floors, which creates an unexpected classy ambience further enhanced by the intimate glow of candles and red lampshades. The room is set up like a railroad flat. A long bar flanks the entrance at one end and a DJ set-up at the other. In between, the bar stretches down one side and the other is lined with a long bench and tables and chairs. Wish is frequently jam-packed from Thursday through Saturday night with post-work and pre-club partiers; happy hours, from 5PM to 8PM daily, are also popular. They come in with groups of friends to do some high-powered flirting, and often leave in pairs with newly acquainted strangers.
