Asqew Grill   

The original Asqew Grill has since spawned five outposts, including one in the East Bay. It's easy to see why the place took off so quickly -- employees in mechanics jumpsuits grill up ribs, skewers of beef, chicken or fish, and an assortment of fresh veggies all day, every day, and serve 'em up with California-style sides like garlic-mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Yes, this is citified, West Coast barbecue, but darn if it ain't still tasty as all get out. Grab a seat by the front window for some prime people watching along Haight Street. And, if you've got room, the grilled caramel-apple sundae is one of the best desserts in the city.
