Few restaurants serve quality food at 1AM, so Cafe Maritime could be commended for its late hours alone. But the food is not just "greasy diner food" it's good, fresh seafood. The crab cakes have won deserved praise from local press and neighborhood regulars alike, the seafood chowder is far superior to most clam chowders in the city, and the restaurant offers up a full raw bar with excellent oysters. Nothing is all that inventive or unique, just good, fresh seafood prepared according to tried-and-true recipes. The chef's mother bakes most of the outstanding pies, and it's all served up with a smile in a very charming little space.
