Cat Club   

You know that saying about the cat's pajamas? Well, if the cats here even own pajamas, they're probably lined with metal studs and come with a pair of combat boot slippers. While there's no particular scene at this SOMA staple from night to night, you're more likely to find fetish wear instead of the hipster look that permeates many city bars. With a front room punctuated by a disco ball and ornate guilt mirrors, a larger back room with exposed brick walls and bars in each, the club's identity crisis interiors suit both DJ performances, live bands and the occasional salsa night. The rotating array of regular club nights includes the (in)famous Bondage A Go Go and Chelsea Starr's lesbian 80s music dance party, Hot Pants. The venue is a favorite for goth nights, hardcore acts and neo-punk wailers. If you're not a regular, but you want to see how the other half has fun, trade in your jeans, sneaks and button-down shirt for black, preferably leather, separates with metal and or chain accents. You'll also want to bare any tattoos you happen to have, and, please, do something with that dopey haircut.
