Flippers Gourmet Burgers   

On sunny San Francisco days it seems like all of Hayes Valley (and their dogs) is crowded onto Flipper's outdoor patio, munching tasty gourmet burgers and gawking at the drag queens still hanging out at Marlena's from the night before. Juicy burgers are served plain or with a wide variety of toppings (our favorite is the Flipper Clipper with bacon, avocado and cheese), and come with salad and curly fries. The restaurant also serves breakfast all day, every day, along with beer, wine, and mimosas. The Royal Grounds coffee counter on the patio is a good spot to grab a quick, cheap cup of strong morning coffee when you've grown tired of waiting in line at Blue Bottle.
