Mamacita's low leather banquettes, dark, intimate dining room lit with traditional Mexican lanterns and tin-bar scene full of tricked-out young Marina dwellers combine for an evening that's not your usual "Let's go out for Mexican." The menu is just as upscale, with choices organized by antojitos, tamales (made fresh daily), tacos and platos fuertes. In addition to the "made from scratch" margaritas, regulars rave about the chilequiles - tortilla chips tossed with chipotle cream sauce, roasted chicken, sweet pepper rajas and scallions. And instead of offering only the tradtional taco choices, Mamcita's serves up a red snapper variety, as well. Entrees include chicken, steak and carnitas dishes along with Hawaiian ono and seared ahi tuna. The dessert menu is as lengthy as the entree menu. Some diners show up just for the creme brulee, sopaipillas or budin de cocoa, baked chocolate pudding with candied peanuts, cajeta caramel, and mango gelato.

Didn't know there was such a thing as classy/chic mexican food before Mamacita. Probably the nicest mexican joint I've ever been to. Food is excellent...good place to go with friends or on a hot date. Won't be disappointed. Staff is very friendly too.

We ate here on the recommendation of friends and came away wishing we lived closer. This is a beautiful place with superb margaritas, yummy food, and a friendly & professional staff. We especially enjoyed the open-faced steak tacos with carmelized onions, carnitas tacos, house-made tamales, calamari in cornmeal, a fresh & spicy corn side dish, chicken mole with braised raddiccio, a seasonal crab dish, and the beyond-churros desserts. Bravo to the chef and his crew. Can't wait to go back again. Enjoy!
