Offering Contemporary Seafood in a sophisticated setting, Aqua has been one of San Francisco's most acclaimed and popular landmark restaurants for over 15 years. We have received a coveted two star rating from The Michelin Guide for the past three years and a 3 1/2 star review from the San Francisco Chronicle. Additionally, we have received awards from Zagat, DiRona, CitySearch, Gayot, and 7x7 Magazine. Using mostly European techniques, we serve delicate fish in a way that has traditionally been reserved for meats, offering unique menu selections of the freshest local and imported seafood.

Snooty Rating Correct
My party and I stopped in for cocktails one evening, and we came out of a downpour of rain. Needless to say we looked like drowned rats. This is not to say we are TPT -- not by any means. What could have been a table for 5 for dinner ended at drinks only because we got such cold and snooty treatment from the staff who didn't mind giving us headlong looks the entire time we sipped our drinks, as if the moist clothes and wet hair were actually funky. Hellooooo, it was RAINING. Lose the 'tude.

We finally got to Aqua on Oct 25th for our 22nd anniversary dinner. We loved the elegant, simple interior design and the food was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was very friendly and solicitous without being a nuisance. We were given a free beverage of our choice because a table across from us was extremely noisy. The dining room itself was very noisy and the only downside to the entire experience. We'll definitely go back and would recommend it anyone looking for a great dining experience in The City.
