Offering Contemporary Seafood in a sophisticated setting, Aqua has been one of San Francisco's most acclaimed and popular landmark restaurants for over 15 years. We have received a coveted two star rating from The Michelin Guide for the past three years and a 3 1/2 star review from the San Francisco Chronicle. Additionally, we have received awards from Zagat, DiRona, CitySearch, Gayot, and 7x7 Magazine. Using mostly European techniques, we serve delicate fish in a way that has traditionally been reserved for meats, offering unique menu selections of the freshest local and imported seafood.

My husband and I enjoy the pleasures of fine dining every week. What I cannot stand is a lot of fanfare given to a restaurant when it is totally undeserved. The best that can be said about Aqua is that the service is good. The food is another matter. The food was NOT very good; and to make matters worse, there was very little of it. When we left Aqua, we headed straight for Wendy's (we should have started off there). By the way, if you do not mind paying $200 to $300 for a good bottle of wine, this is the place to come. The cheapest bottle is about $90.00. The food, however, is not worth the additional expense of ordering wine. Let me add that my husband and I believed the review and dressed accordingly. We were the only people there (on a Friday Night) "seriously dressed." There were a few t-shirts and boat shoes. Save your money. Seek out Arthur Treachers.

I had lunch atAqua a few days ago and I must admit I really enjoyed the presentation of the food more than anyhting. The shrimp tempura is awonderful appitizer. The creme brule was also very good. It was a little pricy, $150 for two, and only one of us had wine. Overall an excellent place to dine.
