Rate and Write a Review The SceneJapanese anime merges with SF-style grungy chic in this hard-edged hipster spot. Scenes from futuristic films flash on the flat screen behind a trio of punked-out sushi chefs at the bar, while those in the dining room huddle close--squinting to see their food and trying to catch a word between the techno beats. The FoodCleverly named, somewhat strange combinations are the menu's specialty. Appetizers, such as the pyramid of salmon and tuna tartares, taste as good as it looks. There's also thinly sliced, ponzu-sauced Halibut Bouquet. Head for the Spider Maki--a pleasingly plump, crispy rendition of the classic. The artfully prepared rolls make a pleasant meal, whether a traditional spicy tuna rendition or a trendy Super Dynamite stuffed with lightly fried yellowtail, albacore, salmon, scallion and chili sauce.
