A really different Vietnamese restaurant.
The cusine is five Star. Prime angus beef, sublime lamb and the best chicken broth that I have ever tasted as a base to Pho. Lobster, crab, fish, and a solid assortment of Vietnamese delicacies round out the menu. There's even a great Pad Thai! Owner, Jimmy Kwok of Ciao and Il Fornaio fame, recently started his life-long dream restuarant. Jimmy says the decor will take a while to complete, but will well be worth the wait. Jimmy's idea is to meld an artistic atmosphere with number one quality "Cuisine Indochine" (Vietnamese cusine with touches of French Indo-Chinese). The cuisine is already wonderful, and the ambiance has been slowly improving to create an unusally fantastic dining experience. The people that I've told about Bodega Bistro have all become faithful fans. Kwok promises a new menu to complement his already extraordinary one. Bon apetite!
stars still rising
I dine here, regularly. The lunch menu is typical "Tenderloin/Little Saigon", but the dinner selection really shines. Everything is fantastic, but don't miss the squabs, crab cake, or lamb shanks. The service is improving and is the lone hold back for a five star experience.
