Too prescious
By garrett510 on 05/14/2006
What is it with these Berkeley restaurants? The average waiter or waitress at Burger King or Denny's is friendlier. Do they feel that they're part of something so special that they, themselves, have now become the chosen? C'mon boys and girls, lighten up. Even if this is some really neat, oh-so-cool place, it's just lunch. Be helpful. Smile. Pretend you care. Rudness is rudeness, no matter whether it's in Berkeley or Timbuktu.

Poor Service
By chinojim on 07/08/2005
I could have had an easier meal at home being served by a groutchy wife. This restaurant has a great knack in making you feel second-rate and an inferior person in comparison to them. Did someone expunge the word hospitality from the service industry?

Causal atmostphere
By chewnkidnsp on 02/13/2005
Location - easy to find, with ample parking on the street and near customer parking. Service - need improvement. The impatient/unhappy wait staff could be much more friendly! Decoration - clean, and unremarkably contemporary. Outdoor dinning area looks inviting. Atmostphere - nice, usually family or white collars. Food - Need more variety. Portion size is too large. Wine selection - I'm a non-drinker. Taste - ok. $$ - Average. I would rather go to Pasta P. to spend 30 dollars for a relaxing meal! Overall - It's recommended for folks that aren't too picky about the taste and the kind of food they will be eating. Just a quiet evening hangout would be recommended, and don't be intimidated by the check left on your table after your desert is delivered!

I've was a vegetarian for 20 years but I recently gave into the incredible flavor that is Cafe Rouge charcuterie. One night of oysters, pate, and the caramel chocolate cake and I was a transformed 45 year old woman. I highly recommend this wonderful hot spot to all ages, for there is a little something for everyone (with the exception of vegans)
