Unless you get here early (before 10AM) on a weekend, or come during the week, you will have to wait awhile for a table at Ella's. A lot of people find it annoying, particularly when they're hungry, but it's worth getting up early or enduring the wait at least once for what is consistently one of the city's best brunches. From the homemade pastries (their cinnamon, caramel, pecan pull-apart thing is ridiculously good) to daily egg and omelet specials incorporating fresh local ingredients to old stand-bys like the awesome chicken hash, eggs benedict on cheddar biscuits, and the brandied French toast, Ella's is this busy for a reason.

Disregard the initial description. My family and I drive 2 hours to have brunch at Ella's. Have been doing so since it's opening. We have brought friends and family from coast to coast. Everyone leaves with a smile. We always hear "That was the best (whatever they had)." I personally love the chicken hash and the freshly baked peanut butter cookies. If your mom lives far away and you need a homecooking "fix" go to Ella's. The owner/chef has compiled recipes from various mom's and grandma's and added his own down home flare. Service is terrific and the restaurant is a great place for people watching. The coffee is their own blend, I purchase some for myself every visit. Ella's has won numorous awards for a reason.

We've been to Ella's numerous times with our 4 children and without them and the service was excellent each time. On one visit the server even brought toys out for our toddler when we forgot his toys in the van. Thanks to Ella's families in the City aren't relegated to eating at family friendly but mediocre franchise restaurants. The baked goods are fresh, warm, and tasty. the pancakes fluffy, light, and cooked perfectly, the omelettes are delightfully flavorful and the salads light and fresh. As for the coffee no watered down, burnt, lukewarm, bitter cups of coffee at this place. Menu is a bit limited, but that may be one of the secrets of offering high quality service and food. It is a great place to eat!
