Despite the roadhouse-sounding name, Hawgs Seafood Bar is a wholesome, straightforward friends-and-family seafood joint. Its high ceilings and white walls decorated with faux mounted marlins and stuffed hogs make for a comfortable atmosphere. The friendly staff and quick service is an added plus. Crayons are available to keep kids happy; burgers, on the other hand, are not. Theres not much on the menu other than marine life, with the exception of the skirt steak and grilled chicken. Most of the salads even have the option of adding fish. Dishes are prepared in a very straight-up fashion -- theres nothing fancy here, but everything is very fresh. Theres a decent selection of medium-grade draft beers such as Pyramid Hefeweizen and Sierra Nevada. The wine list is more notable, and includes locals such as Cinnabar, Grgich Hills and Napas Frogs Leap. Servings are ample, and half-orders are available with most menu items. Reservations are not necessary; check with Hawgs, however, before bringing large groups. -- Bethany Polentz
