Everything this sweet little French bakery in the East Bay does is pure pastry magic, but the morning bun is so obscenely good it's hard to get past its flakey croissant-meets-cinnamon-roll goodness. Should you venture beyond the morning bun, you'll find a fantastic assortment of breads, from perfectly crusty French baguettes to delicious Irish soda bread, eclairs that give the morning bun a run for their money, and buttery croissants either left well enough alone or stuffed with your choice of chocolate, almond paste, or ham and cheese. An assortment of tortes, tartes and cakes are available should you need to please a dinner party or a birthday boy or girl, and the bakery also takes custom orders. If you stop by in the morning, great strong coffee will be brewing, but there are no espresso drinks so get your latte elsewhere. Yummy pre-made sandwiches - from simple ham-and-cheese to a special turkey, pear and cheese combo -- are available around lunch time.
