Guests from the Bay Area and the world over celebrate Italian sensibility in this stylish ristorante, with the comfort and sophistication reminiscent of Florence and Rome. Dining at PRIMA is like taking a culinary journey throughout the regions of Italy. Executive Chef, Peter Chastain, changes the menu daily, using the freshest of nature's bounty - creating a dazzling mix of the finest ingredients, resulting in authentic Italian cuisine that is exquisitely pure and immaculately simple. Of course, dining at PRIMA wouldn't be complete without a choice of over 1,600 wines from international "artisan" producers. With PRIMA VINI retail wine shop adjacent to the restaurant, guests may purchase their favorite vintage to take home, or special order wines through PRIMA VINI's wine clubs. PRIMA is the perfect venue to celebrate a special occasion, linger over a sumptuous meal, or design a special dinner party (with customized menus and wines to match). Buon Appetito!

Don't waste your time or money

My boyfriend and I (both Black) have never experienced such unfriendly, unwelcoming service. I have no proof that we were discriminiated based on race. However, it was clear that the hostesses and managers were not happy to have us dine there. The food and service was not worth it. Don't waste your time or money.

Was great, now -"FancySizzler"

Prima was my favorite. I had been a loyal customer since 1990. But I will never return after I have seen how far the food and service has deteriorated in the last year. The wait staff lacked basic knowledge of how to serve patrons in a fine dinning establishment. They knew nothing about wine and offered no personality or charm. The dress code has become wear your blue jeans and sneekers because no one cares. The menu was void of creativity and offered nothing exotic or interesting, just your basic chicken, fish, pork chop or beef. When I asked why there was no lamb on the menu the waiter basically said it was a matter of economics. Apparently the economy had no conflict charging thirty eight dollars for a new york steak that had been mummified in sodium chloride to mask its poor qualities. That particular entrée was accompanied by a side of vegetables that closely resembled seaweed washed up on a beach in Pacifica. Listen to me, save yourself the money and go to sizzler or spend the money wisly and make your reservation somewhere else.
