Schubert's Bakery   

Formerly a pastry instructor at the California Culinary Academy, Lutz Wenzel and his brother, Ralph, became the fourth owners of this bakery that began in 1911. There's a good reason the Wenzels have been in business for almost a century. They cater to the diverse population of the area with German, French and American favorites at very reasonable prices for such good quality. Look for individual souffles of tart lemon or mango mousse, feather-light butter cookies and hefty cinnamon rolls. Enjoy your treats at a cafe table while admiring the cakes decorated with fresh fruit and artistic buttercream topping.
